Centre Juno Beach
Founded in 2003 by volunteers and veterans, the Juno Beach Center traces the history of D-Day and pays tribute to the Canadian forces who landed here on June 6, 1944. 45,000 Canadian soldiers died during the Second World War, including nearly 6,000 during Operation Overlord and 359 on D-Day. A place of remembrance and an educational space, the Juno Beach Center hosts both permanent exhibits on the history of Canadians who volunteered to participate in the war effort, as well as as temporary exhibitions on the life of Norman civilians during the landing period.
